How do you reimburse a mouse?

How do you budget for food as a foodie? I’m 27F and love organic, healthy food, but I spend crazy amounts on groceries (embarrassed to share numbers even anonymously). This is the major expense each month as I don’t splurge on other stuff, but I’m looking for tips to cut this cost a bit - anyone had success in a similar situation ?

What’s your emergency fund number? Do you include mortgage payment as well? I have around 22k in HYSA and plan to keep adding to it. Just don’t know at what point to stop. My monthly mortgage payment is $3400. I want to at least have 6 months of emergency fund for my mental peace. Also, I have a young family. No dent other than mortgage. I’m thinking to include grocery, dining, kid’s classes, pet, utilities, subscriptions, insurance etc in my monthly expense. Anything else?

Has anyone been subject to an expense audit as an employee of Big4, where all the expenses you have claimed have been checked/questioned? Is this a routine occurrence?

Content warning: animal suffering/potential abuse. Yesterday I learned that my child’s father killed a dog by suffocating it with a plastic bag. The dog was very old and sick and it was probably time for him to be put down, but they could not afford the vet expense. Still, I find it disturbing that he could/would do that. I’m not sure how concerned I should be...I suppose it’s legal/humane to shoot a dog when it’s dying, but can’t imagine suffocating one. Appreciate your feedback.
