Hello, I’m an associate (almost at the one year mark) at a midsize firm on the EPL team. I did about 2 years of employment law as a clerk during school and know that’s what I want to go into. I’ve asked for more EPL work but keep catching PI cases. I second-chaired an employment trial but don’t see any EPL work for the foreseeable future and wasn’t getting as much EPL exposure as I wanted before the trial. Any advice on a lateral move to a bigger firm with a broader range of EPL work?

I’m a true night-owl that begins thinking clearly about 5 PM. I often send projects out after midnight. Early morning emails and calls are an adventure. Has anyone else had to work through this issue? Fight it or embrace it?

So I’m planning on leaving my position before school starts, but the application and interview process has been slow. At this point I’m afraid I won’t find a job until late July. Should I let my school now and let them post my job as an anticipated position? I’d hate for them to have to find someone last minute, but I also want to keep that school as a fall back just in case. Unfortunately, it’s a terrible position and there has not been a lot of interest in it in the past.

I’m a certified PE health teacher and we have recently moved to a small town in Nebraska. They have asked me to be a full time sub in 6-12 choir and band (only opening and they can’t find a Music teacher) I know nothing about band or choir. I am resigning from my position. I don’t have a job secured yet, but I have a couple interviews lined up. I’m wondering if I should tell my admin tomorrow (before going on break) or wait until I have a job secured.
FYI: I found one document saying I need to give a 30 day notice and the employee handbook says 2 weeks to be in “good standing”.
Any advice would be helpful.
