Couldn’t help but chuckle at “now that we’re WFH”. It’s been a year buddy
Figured it would pass but nope still struggling to disconnect after normal working hours
You get to a point where you hit bottom and realize that you need to set boundaries and just stop thinking about every little thing that went on during the day.
Two things that helped me:
1) One thing that I always want to be was reliable. Once I realized I got that credibility from the right people, I started to loosen my grip on thinking about work so much.
2) Also thinking about how we are a little spec in the universe and none of this stuff really matters. Kind of helps refocus on just living life that shouldn’t always revolve around work.
Sit under a mf tree - works wonders
Go outside
Better than a screen for the 12+ hour.
Go to the gym to angrily lift and run.
Leave the phone and laptop in another room and get fully immersed in something - anything - else. Book, show, board game...whatever.
Make appointments or schedule plans with friends or family if thats an option. Having something I need or want to do with a time on it helps encourage me to get offline, and once I'm off for 2 plus hrs the work mind fades
It’s horrible. Especially when no one on your team does anything but work, and you’re the only one that cares about life outside of work.
Music classes and practicing
Buy some ikea furniture and start building. Then donate it to charity.

Get outside, get moving—exercise, do yard work, find a DIY project to do. If not that, find a hobby that lets you decompress your work mind and focus on something else.
For me, it’s gardening and home projects
Rising Star
Beer and TV. Not sure if people can’t read or what but during the day absolutely schedule time for outdoors and exercise.
What did you do before you started WFH? Basically, that's what you should still be doing to unwind.
Thanks this is actually a pretty good point. Will try it out and see how it goes
Exercise and cooking
