How hard is it to get an investment analyst job?
Have a bachelors in finance, CFA level 1, studying for MFin also. 10+ years in financial services in credit. I am currently in my early 30s
Have applied for a few jobs, but none are showing any signs of interest.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

What kind of “investment analyst” job are you referring to? Buy side, sell side - equity research, credit, investment consulting, etc. I think it entirely depends on the level of position you are looking for.

like

I am open to all, but ideally, it might be credit related since I have experience in that field.

Would say you’re taking the right steps with CFA, get level 2 and I think you’ll be getting a lot more hits ( a lot of folks usually get lvl 1 and stop there) , and then take a lot of financial modeling courses and network with CFAs , ask them for coffee/ phone chats and sooner or later you’ll get some hits

I am looking into the CCP (Certified Compensation Professional). It seems to be quite an expensive exam.

If anyone else is studying, let me know and maybe we can share study materials!

For those who have taken it, are there any cheaper or alternative study materials to any official guides you would recommend? I went this route with the PHR and SHRM-SCP and passed each on the both try, so I wanted to see if that method may be viable here. Any recommended order to take courses in?

Hi fishes,

Can anyone please refer me for Analyst roles at Deloitte.

Hi fellow fish need some advice.

I'm planning a wedding and wondering if I should apply for new credit cards to maximize on points. If so, wondering what your recommendations are and or if there are new cards out there I haven't heard of yet. For context I probably have another 20k+ in expenses to pay still and my current cards are:

CSP
Marriott Bonvoy Boundless
Citi double cash
Random card (used to be uber)

I work in quant and rely on our company’s database for everydays task, but couldn’t get any support from the company’s tech/data team. It’s been such a struggle. Everyday im fighting with red tapes and firewalls. :(

Due to obvious conditions my comp for the calendar year (salary+bonus) is back to 2017 levels although my overall sales are more than double and 1/3 less total comp than last year. It seems like comp opportunity is always decreasing during good times (I get it) but when it comes to adjusting during bad times, nothing was done. Is this normal for industry sales?

Hey guys, so I have competing offers. One at Bank of America for 124, and one at Allspring for 110.

Does anybody work at Allspring? They did not provide any information regarding benefits, 401k match, or any annual bonus structure. I was told, verbally, that the Bank of America bonus is something like 15 to 20%, but nothing in writing.

Just wondering if anyone has any knowledge about compensation structure at Allspring, or any opinions on the culture there. I would be in Charlotte.

I'm interviewing with KKR for a Principal role in their real estate group. All online salary resources are all in alignment with a total comp of $200k+. I'm assuming based on the average salary reported across these portals for principal that those figures apply to the RE group as well. Anyone have any direct knowledge or can speak to that group's comp?

Does anyone know if principals are in cubicles or doe they get an office?
