I'm curious what the average salary is for an Associate Agent. I'm licensed & do everything after the sale is made as well as refer new business. I have 14 years in the industry but have been at the current company less than a year, so I know that plays a part as well. Anyone in a like-position by chance?State Farm Allstate Travelers

Dude, super hard. I too struggle with feeling like every project is something I’ve never done before - even if I’ve done something like it a million times. What’s helped me (from time to time) is shifting my perspective on my anxiety. Realizing the anxiety might not be coming from my perception that I’m useless and suck, but from my will to impress others. When I manage to shift it, (which I rarely do) I give myself permission to only impress myself. That way, when I feel like it’s good enough, it’s usually way better than expected.
Some people will say it’s what makes us good at our job. But it’s exhausting for sure.
Just be kind to yourself. You’ve made it to a senior position. So even though it feels like a constant internal uphill battle, try and remember it’s just that, internal. Overtime, with practice, you can shift that internal uphill to a sweet and easy ride :)

It’s all good man. I really need the advice and knowing that I’m not alone gives me a lot of validation.
I feel exactly the same way and just posted about the same feelings. I almost took a double take because we are going through the exact same thing.
I have a sunken cost fallacy I am fighting too. I have been in ads for almost a decade now and it actually is not getting any easier for me either. In fact, I think it’s the worst part of my life.
It’s very confusing when people tell you how talented you are too. At the very least, understand that whatever is going on is more than likely a greater industrial issue and NOT you. I am a different person, with a different title, likely at another agency and we are in the same boat. Good luck to you!
This is something that helps me - it’s not my job to *know* the best idea. It’s my job to *find* it.
In strategy, that means using a lot of research tools and frameworks to help find an idea that makes sense. I’m interpreting what I learn… because I never know the answer right off the bat.
This mentality makes me pretty bulletproof when it comes to self-doubt.
Is that helpful / applicable for creative at all?
