How important is an internship for an accounting job/Degree? I work full time and go to school full time and I keep hearing that I HAVE to start applying soon? I don’t know if it’s even possible for me to go somewhere for a summer internship and I haven’t found a local one yet. Plus I have a family and bills I have to pay. I’m not sure if I can even take the risk of quitting my job and hoping it’ll be available once I complete said internship.

Where do I steer my career? I’m an introvert and someone who suffers from PTSD from my time on active duty. I honestly have no real desire to really go to an office and spend half my day pretending to be social and develop “relationships”. I honestly just want to bury myself in the work. Thoughts of taking a position at a small firm who practices Applicant side WC...good/bad time to take this position?

Currently a staff in audit - 6 months in. Glad to be learning a lot, and have had a generally positive experience at the firm other than a few interactions, some tough busy season nights. Really been intrigued by TAS/M&A, however, and had a few convos with a senior in TAS i know at the firm. It’s closer to what I studied, but don’t know how to make the jump as it seems an internal transfer could take 6+months/senior rank and a lot of convincing. Is it better to jump firms/has anyone done this?

But due to the diminishing demands of the role in IT industry , I am planning to switch my career in Devops or AWS which would help me grow.
But I am not sure without any practical knowledge, will I get a job at this many years of experience in a different profile.

Within my first year of Consulting, really struggling with the hours amongst other things.
