hey folks, I am going to join Oracle ossi in Hyderabad location. I have never been to Hyderabad, and will be relocating. Please guide on what would be good areas to look for rent. Also, what would be rent like for 2/3 bhk. Ideally my budget for rent would be <25k. Initially I will be going but in future my family will join me once I am settled. Any points to note or any other gotcha to keep in mind ? Please suggest.

It is terrible for a few reasons:
1) manager to SM and SM to Associate Principal promotions are one of the hardest. With the lowest success rate. And the up or out is very strict at these levels
2) the skill set required to succeed at Manager+ is totally different than the skill set that brought the consultant up to this point (in a super simplification: managing teams vs. problem solving)
3) You don’t have a manager above you to help you fix your screw ups. Everything flows straight to the partner or to the client. And they are much less forgiving than managers (yes..)
4) managing smart ovearchievers is very hard, as they ate very demanding. But it is even harder to manage incompetent people. There is no comfort in either sides of these equation
Outside of the strict up and out (for some practices) this is the same at B4.
Trust. WLB is not there

We get told frequently that the WLB is very bad and the Darwinism is brutal. I wonder how real that is and how much of it is a weird form of humble brag / flex.
