I was in the final stages of an interview with Microsoft two weeks ago, in partner marketing. Then the recruiter told me they were putting the hiring process on hold to assess the need for the role. Well, then we heard about Microsoft layoffs last week. Seems like most were in Xbox and Project Alpha but there’s not a lot of information out there. Should I hold out any hope that I’m going to get this job? Any insights on how much these layoffs have impacted the marketing org and/or new hiring?

Any guess how many people are laid off from Publicis sapient in past few days? Really scared for my future as I'm also under probation period and deeply regret for my choice of joining this firm...I don't understand why were they recruiting peeps when they were short of projects. Publicis Sapient

Accenture is screwed up with only 57% utilization and the rest on bench
Leadership at D has communicated we will be cutting low performers and that we have to be extra clear on who that is (vs letting people slide by like in prior years) but there has been no talk or evidence of layoffs at scale. I think we typically let go of 5 percent every year historically for bottom of the barrel performance, but I think it was lower last few years and this year we may for all we know go to 7.5 or a little more …. All the more reason one should never coast…. Coasting puts you in the middle of the pack where you can be at risk. Being awesome always secures your job (but may screw your wlb)
What is coasting?
I saw ACN is getting rid of 19k jobs, over 50% of which are enabling areas/corporate functions, the rest is probably trimming a little more than the typical low performers
Haha not as much for GPS but commercial bench is thick right now. So “layoffs” not necessarily, but far more BCLP trimming than typical because of the previous years over hiring
