It's a fancy name for IT audit. Great job if you like taking screeenshots for 55 hours a week, being pigeonholed into IT audit, and spending everyday wishing you were in any other job.
IT audit is IT audit.... No difference... Don't buy into Risk Advisory or Risk Consulting.... All BS marketing
Agree with PwC1, with one minor distinction. PwC rebranded it’s IT audit practice. All the C1 and maybe some unfortunate C2 folks got put into DAT. DAT handles all the controls testing for the financial audits and Soc 1 and Soc 2 reports, so the traditional It audit jobs. There’s a portion of C2 folks that got put into advisory under risk and Reg. So what does that mean for you OP. If you really like IT audit, then DAT is a good place, because that’s all you are going to do. If you’re looking to do It audit plus some real advisory work, chances are you won’t get to, because now that the C1 and C2 work have been split into 2 different groups, it’s even harder to get on C2 projects.
Compensation in DAT is higher then traditional core audit or tax. At least to who I have spoken to, we all got pretty high raises this year. WLB is sort of on par with other groups except our busy season (50 - 55 hours officially) is about 6 months of the year. If you have any more questions, let me know!
I’m honestly not sure. In DAT I try and typically succeed in charging only 40 client chargeable hours per week outside of busy season and try to do 50-60 during busy season. Like everything in PA it all depends on the teams you are on.
