When do you know when you’re ready to go in house? Last week, I was in a state of panic 24/7 because of the workload and deadlines (half of which turned out to be false deadlines). The anxiety drove me to look for exit ops for the first time and I found a few that looks interesting and that I intended to apply to. But this week doesn’t feel as bad so now I’m questioning if it’s worth exchanging the financial and job security of big law for the (relatively) black box that is in-house?

I can’t tell if it’s the firms culture but I’m feeling more anxious and antsy. Giving everything I have and being somewhat bullied and under appreciated. I try and focus myself every day, but continually on a rollercoaster of deflation and rude comments. Might be because I’m not a Principal yet, or that I’m a non diverse company; or that grass looks and may we’ll be greener. Thoughts.
