How long do you wait for a recruiter to reveal an actual salary range to you? This recruiter said “about the same as your current salary but up to 40% bonus” and is not giving me an actual number range. There’s like 4 interviews to get through so I don’t want to do all that only to get low balled in the end. I don’t consider the bonus as a part of my comp because of the contingencies.

Those of you in industry post consulting, when you get a new internal job are signing bonuses a thing, or have you seen any version of this?

I am contemplating a move to industry working at a VC, Tax Director role east coast. Looks like it will be primarily overseeing compliance with some aspect of advising on structures etc. There is another tax reporting head above me.

The potential comp is the low 200k with a 10% bonus (still higher than what I am making). I feel this is pretty low for VC standards but maybe my standards are also too high. I have generally seen 25% bonus with carry.
