Lol I've seen Agile projects here and they're a fucking disaster because they bring inexperienced people on board #stoptryingtomakeagilehappen
I feel the only beneficiary of agile are the companies themselves, since it's just a guise to increase productivity.
Most of my clients equate this with “tightening the timeline by skipping testing and hoping for the best”.
Agile is a joke
Lol @a1 Helping the client write user stories and they're straight trash but because we've delivered results this is "the standard going forward"
We do it correctly in our group. It is often a struggle though to get clients to understand what it really means, partially because many people in consulting describe a delivery process as agile when they just mean digital assets. Not the same.
Agile is far superior to waterfall for most modern efforts. It doesn't mean we skip all documentation and certainly doesn't mean we don't test. It just means we are more transparent about what we are working on currently, flexible to adapt to changing client needs, and deliver frequently to enable earlier validation and course correction. It's not necessarily cheaper, and doesn't mean the client gets unlimited scope (a common misconception that requires careful management). When done right clients feel much less stress throughout the project.
We helped many clients do it right and at scale, it is not easy but the rewards are tremendous
Can someone explain to me the agile principles and techniques?
Most projects start with a due date and no understanding of scope. With that in mind, how do you convince a client to abide by an agile delivery method given the inherit progressive elaboration from Sprint to Sprint? No sponsor is ever comfortable withour a clear idea of when they will get the first cut of an MVP deliverable. I am looking for tips on how to manage expectations.
