How many IB analysts actually make it all the way to MD?
Anyone here? I use to think I can grind it out for a decade and do it. 4 years in now and I don’t think I can make it.

In precedented times, is it easier or harder to get the same job abroad? (i.e Advisory in B4). I’ve always wanted to be an ex-pat for a bit.

Started a new job a year ago, high performer. My manager suggested a promotion to Product Manager since that‘s the work I’m doing, but that would be a 50% raise. Higher ups decided instead to make a “new role” (not PM), that has no analog in the company and is hard to price via Glassdoor, etc. I feel like this is to limit my promotion salary to something like 10% from where it currently is. Is there anything I can do? FWIW: I have a PhD from top 5 program and am working in that field. Thanks!

currently tossing up between staying at a global company (who is in the process of some positive changes) with an amazing manager who supports my career and flexible working … however comes with the inherit issues that come with a long standing global company

compared with a role at a smaller mga, higher salary (around 30%) more , more visibility career wise and some great employee benefits , management seem to be supportive and low staff turnover

I am a Reliability Maintenance 3P contractor for Amazon. I graduated with my Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering on June 2022. I’ve been working with Amazon for a year, but there’s a lack of prospective EE positions within the company. The job postings I see are either less or barely above my current salary. Going for my first switch, and got offer from CTS with 11.5 ctc as etl tester.
My lwd is jan 2nd.
I got trained in Selenium in java and i think my selenium concepts/understandings are good, need some brush up on testng.
So is it advicable to kick start and brushup Selenium+ TestNG concepts in 1 month and go for automation role interviews as i dont have experience in realtime automation projects. Good or bad idea?

Looking for advice: I have an analyst (9 months on the job) who still doesn’t get it - repeatedly misses comments, doesn’t follow instructions, slow, etc. I have raised this to both my MDs and they seem to be adopting a “not my problem” approach when I mention it. I had advised against hiring this analyst post internship and my MD insisted that all the issues I highlighted were fixable. I have tried teaching him to no avail and frustration with him is growing. Any suggestions for how to handle?
