170-210 base, anything above that would be an exception. Depends on your current rank / income and how bad we need you. In this market unlikely.
Do you think getting a signing bonus is realistic if I asked for $205k?
With 10-11 years of experience you should really be pushing to come in at SM. Typical progression for high performers is 2 yrs Staff, 2-3 yrs Senior, 3-4 yrs M then SM (I know someone who made partner within 10 years out of undergrad - obviously exception not the rule). They'll give you the typical run around: consulting/big 4 is different, need to build a network internally, gain sales experience - all true but if you have 11 years under your belt at your level of experience you should be able to accomplish those within a year.
Comp range is going to be determined by which level you are within each rank - M1 very different target range than M4. There's a chance you get your salary requirement but it may put you at the top of a band which would preclude you from getting any increases until a) promotion or b) band increases due to market conditions. I've never heard of a signing bonus for anyone other than MBA joiners and i'd say it's highly unlikely in this job market unless you have a very specialized high demand skillset.
I was in fso until 2023. My final year as a manager I made $215K. I had 9-10 years of experience at that point of time.
Also don’t join fso. It’s a very different place than what it used to be.
What are the issues with the FSO practice?
Possible yes
I’d say that pay range is in the lower range for SM rather than a manager.
