Having an animal friend with cancer is not something easy. This year I have already had 24 animals that went to sleep in order to stop suffering. This is not easy for their families at all. It seems to me that the cancer stats in domestic animals are increasing, is this just me?

If I take extended sick leave, i.e. 3 months, do future employers look at this? I want to take a break from ACN because of burnout, but dont want it to be an issue if I change roles in the next year or so?

Are we overthinking the comp, benefits, wlb and the sort?
Sometimes I wish I could just do the job and not think about any of those things. But then I look at the time and nine hours passed by and I still have three hours left before I can say that I made a ding to my To Do list for the day.

So I’m only contributing to 401k enough to get employer match, and I’m saving an additional ~20% and putting 90% of that into my vanguard mutual funds. Reasoning is that I don’t want to lock away all that money maxing out 401k. Have 3 months expenses liquid in a savings account. Is this really dumb? Essentially trading tax for the option of actually using my money.

My anxiety has been at bay after changing my job and just feeling like I HAVE control over my life. But now it's back because I feel like I'm behind in other aspects of my life (I.e dating). I have so many friends getting engaged and I just feel... anxious since I am SO single. I'm 27, and I know I'm at that age where people do but it just sucks. I’ve been depressed for years now and this past week I lost a dog I’ve had for 15 years; he was one of the only bright spots in my life and I’ve just found it so hard to focus or motivate myself on anything after this. I work in a public school setting and am allergic to citrus. My district has stated that it is too much trouble to accommodate me. I carry an Epipen and have an anaphylaxis reaction to being exposed to citrus. My district is not accepting my doctor note. They think I am exaggerating and refuse to limit citrus fruits on my campus. An HR meeting concluded that I was required to work through it/use the emergency response team if I have “an issue”. Pls share if you have had a different experience
