How often do you revisit the goals you’ve set for growth?

I do it every 3 months, I respect my path a lot, and I have a wallpaper on my phone that I can place a check on every time I have achieved part of the path to fulfilling my goals.

In our company we only have a blackboard, everything else is computers, we don't use paper, but this blackboard has the objectives for 7 years from now, with each of the goals that we must achieve to meet the objective of growing from a small company to a medium-sized company.

Well, every week I review my goals, we have 3 months of having started with a marketing strategy, the first really important one for our agency.

We design brand development plans which are divided into 1 year, where the first month we review weekly to evaluate the initial growth, and then we do it monthly until month 6, and from there we return to weekly reviews.

If we talk about the goals as a company, we review them every 4 months, if you talk about the goals we have with the brands we manage, we review them every week, sometimes it happens to reviews every 3 days.

To achieve the objectives, we do is review our short-term goals weekly, that is, the strategies have weekly goals to increase the community, reach, or clicks.

Every Friday I go through the metrics to see if we're on track and what's working/what isn't. Every 3 months we do a formal meeting on the progress and make changes where needed.

I started a company just under 1 year ago. We sell a product via ecom channels and have done ~100K in revenue with a 60% gross margin.

The first 6 months I was working a full time job. I quit my job to focus on the business full time, and have since depleted my readily available capital. I’m bootstrapping the business with my own funds. I was recently offered a job in my old industry for 80K per year. I was previously making 62K.

Should I take the job?

Private Equity groups at Oliver Wyman, S&, and EY Parthenon have all invited me to interview. Alix Partners has reached out to build out the Galt Co acquisition. 1. Anyone else who is considering a move to private equity consulting, are you concerned with joining at what could be the peak of M&A? Are these companies being rational in such a hot market when it comes to hiring? 2. Any thoughts on the quality of these teams relative to one another?

For startup founders/people with a successful side project: How did you get the idea/inspiration for your business? For those of you who got out at 10, do you wish that you rode it out to 20? I’m at a crossroad and I’m not sure what to do. Have some active/reserve time, wrapping up graduate school, and am now considering either a) come back to the business world or b) go active and retire before 50 and live off a nice pension. Obviously there are draws to both. I’m an officer for what it’s worth so I can realistically retire at O-5, MAYBE O-6.
