How should one go about asking for a letter of rec—email or live Zoom call? I’m in a position where my first rec letter is really strong and someone I worked with for a while but the second one is someone I worked with for only 3 months (I’m a consultant and it’s the average case length). I am giving them 5 weeks to write it and don’t want to put them on the spot.

I did not get a raise when I took the job because it was technically a demotion ( I was a team leader at a contact center). I assist two VPs and now they want to add a third because they’re looking for the “ 3:1 ratio “. Should I ask for a raise? Is this normal? What is realistic comp and career progression at a PE firm exit?

I’m 37 and I didn’t get nominated for PCEC (mckinsey partner election). Should I give it another year knowing that it generally takes 2 election cycles and I won’t be a partner until I’m 39?
