How would you read into the price change on Dec 7th. Seller agent mentioned they were in contract prior to Dec 7th and was taking backup offers. On Dec 7th, they said they are looking for a new buyer and increased the price. I've seen comparable houses at 600k so was wondering if they are playing tricks with the price. Current homeowner does not want to negotiate.

Let it sit. Looks like someone has an inexperienced realtor. They must not realize that December is incredibly slow for home sales… maybe they will get some traction in the new year, but by then, they will have 90+ days on the market which is a huge red flag.

like

OP, they didn’t intend to list at $593k that was just the decrease when they fat fingered the price at 66,900 while it should have been 669,000.

I’ve seen this when they accept an offer above listing they raise the list price to match the offer. Maybe it helps get the appraisal to match the offer.

I would continue to wait until the price drop again. If this overpriced house something you really want then go ahead and put your offer in.
