Microsoft is hiring an account executive and I’m really interested in the role. I have B2B sales experience in a different industry, but my skills include lead generation, prospecting, account management, negotiating, etc (all within the C Suite and other decision makers).
Would appreciate knowing if this is something I have a shot at with no tech sales experience and what I could expect for promotional opportunities and compensation.
Thanks for the help!

Time to jump ship FOR SURE!
Tbh: not against it.
Yes even at Deloitte our fresh out of college with no experience starting pay is higher than that!
BAH7 my understanding is 75k
Ver bad. Hired out of undergrad as Sr. Consultant making 75k in a "c" city. Made associate in 1.5 years with raise put me at 89k. No secret clearance.
You’re getting getting hosed man. My advice is the same as the other here: ask for a MSA. And if you don’t get it...start looking for a new gig. Life too short to deal with BAH bulls*^t

If you're not making at least $100k by 25 in any consulting field, you did something wrong.
I think that by 25 is kind of a strong statement. I’d say within 3 years of experience. And at least in my experience, the people that get 5% raises are doing things wrong. This might just be in my industry though.
What industry are you in? I have less than a year, no Masters, and making around 80. What industry are you in if I might ask?
Look around for Open Reqs. You should be able to find something within Booz, in another contract.

I started at 55k 7.5 years ago in a tier 3 city with a tier 3 bachelors degree.
What account/group OP? Where are you located?
Defense, Army Account, National Guard. in DC
i’m an SC with just bachelors at 80k sooo yea also secret clearance
What!? Leave.
Did you graduate undergrad and go right to masters?
What's your job family? I see you said defense account but what do you do. 62k is normal for undergrad out of school, probably not masters but if you're project coordinating then under 70k isn't crazy
Yeah... Strat comm is definitely gonna keep you on the low side of a pay band big time.
So now with a master's technically they can place you into a hiring labor cat, but your project would have to see if that's possible. Also you can contact HR for market salary research
You work wild consulting hours and make <60k? How did you stay that long?
Yes that sucks or you are terrible at your job. I just hired someone for $80K with no experience.
