How do you all deal with the guilt of leaving a comany/ team? I have been working at Microsoft for 1 year now, and seriously considering moving. I find the code base to be very legacy and I mostly work on obscure bugs that I spend so much time on, mostly due to navigating this large code base and not having much docs to refer to. Hence I find the job slightly unsatisfying, and that I could learn more elsewhere. However, I love the wlb, the team and company culture. The guilt stops my applying.

What makes more money IT Audit or IT GRC?
Hello - hope everyone is having a great weekend. I'm looking into risk assurance opportunities at Meta, especially Application Manager, Controls (min 5 YOE) and Manager, Compliance (min 12 YOE). I am a Senior Manager with 9 years of IT risks assurance experience. Does anyone have any thought on which position I should apply? If anyone currently at Meta could share your experience, that would also help. If anyone is open to providing referrals, I could provide my background. Facebook (Meta)

How’s your week so far, EY 2? I really like what we have going here
Take the CISA. As long as you can pass that, you’ve proven you have the right baseline of skills. IT audit is always in need of staff.
Yes, I have heard this would be a good thing to take and I was planning on taking a deeper look into it soon (once busy season ends on Monday). Thank you for the advice!
Welcome to the dark side of IT Audit
Switching becomes hell of a lot easier with a CISA
I switched from tax to risk advisory (not IT based). I found it easiest to just switch firms for that move bc I saw way too many coworkers waiting 6 months to a year to actually switch internally. And even after the switch, they would still be working on some old lingering projs from tax. Happy to chat more on my experience if you’re interested
This is crazy that this is what happens to people. Thank you for the advice. I will definitely think this through.
Happy to refer to PwC Digital Assurance and Transparency practice. It’s what we call IT Audit. If you’re willing to learn we’ll teach you. If you have CPA, then the CISA isn’t needed. If you don’t have either, don’t let that stop you, get hired and get PwC to pay for your study materials
Thank you. I will definitely keep you in mind if I end up having to look for a new job :)
