I am currently at a super regional and am considering a move to a smaller AM firm ($25b) as a junior PM. I’m concerned moving to a lesser know asset manager could hurt future opportunities. How much weight is placed on name recognition of the firm you work at?

Have others found it hard to transition from Audit to Financial Analyst? All the recruiters I’m meeting with are telling me I probably won’t get an interview since they’re looking for someone who’s ready to hit the ground running.
It’s discouraging because I’m a fast learner, and from talking to my friends who are Financial Analysts, it doesn’t seem like what we do is so dissimilar.

Can someone please for the love of god help me figure out how I can pay less income taxes? I only make 88k and I put the 12k standard deduction but I’m still getting taxed 27% of my paychecks!
