I am finishing up at an agency end of June and another agency reached out to book me for a 3 month job that would need to start fairly soon. The job I’m on now has been shot and edited and is going into testing and then we will do the color and mix. What is the proper freelance etiquette in the situation? Can I go to the agency I’m at now and tell them someone wants to book me through the end of August or do I just have to say no to the new agency?

Do you guys respond to emails and phone calls over the weekend or have you been able to put boundaries in place wit your boss?

I have passed the CFA level 2 exam and was wondering if I have to complete the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) as most of the job postings here mention about it. I saw that if someone passes at least the CFA level 1 exam then the requirement of CSC is exempted. Can anyone enlighten me about this? As the CSC exam costs above 1000 CAD, I wanted to be sure if I need it before investing behind it.

I am two weeks into a four week booking but they said that usually keep freelancers on for a really long time. Right now I am only working on edits. I recently went freelance as an EP and started my own LLC as well (to get the full benefits of being a freelancer). Some agencies and clients want to pay on a W2 versus 1099 / as an independent contractor. Should I still take the gig if W2 or stand my ground and pass?
