I am going to leave big 4 audit after 1.5 years, what are the most common exit ops around this timeframe?

I am not interested in pure accounting so I was thinking about financial analyst positions. Work life balance would be a big priority for me as well.

Just start applying. You’d be surprised. You could get invited to interview for anything from senior accountant to internal audit to financial analyst. Just gotta start.

like

It’ll depend on how well your experiences and interview skills are, but I think you’ll be on the cusp of a lower senior level to associate for financial analyst roles if that’s what you’re looking for. Senior positions usually ask for supervision skills sets so unless you have some and put it on the resume, 1.5 years isn’t really typical from what I see hiring and working with people.

with 1.5 years exp you can still pivot to a lot of things

So, I've realised there's a problem with developers, a lot of them are coders, not engineers. And another issue, is that, companies don't really care about their progression as far as I'm aware, so what did you guys do in your own time to transition from being a coder to an engineer?

I’ve asked for work but no luck. I know they say this is normal for a stub but when should I start getting worried and consider looking for exit options? Fyi, I like my practice group, so I don’t want to change to a different group within my firm, hence would have to lateral, if I have to. Also, other co-1st years are churning in high hours.
