It’s like getting an masters in finance or a top 20 MBA. Won’t change your life, but a solid credential that may open doors.
More of a requirement if you are a money manager.
That said as a non-finance undergrad, I learned a lot and definitely think it was worth it.
Make sure you have the one to study.. I just took it for the 2nd time. Both times work got in the way of the time I need to ensure I knew everything
Thanks SC1.. Being a non Finance major, goal is to learn and keep building skills . It is the commitment needed that is making me pause before I commence
Level 3 essay. You have to clearly show your work to get anywhere near full credit. Highly recommend a boot camp to prep for level 3.
Achieved with this charter professionally and financially.
Agree with Slalom1, will also start for Level 1 in Dec, and will use as a generally useful certification.
It has a lot of core finance concepts and depth.
And you can use the credential as a substitute for MBA in some fields (especially in CFO organization).
Slalom 1... is that the whole CFA or the level one exam ?
IBM, I am a CFA charterholder.
OP, Make sure you take a good look at the professional requirements. Would be a shame to pass all three levels and not have the right work experience to get the charter.
Which test was hardest?
For someone with a non-finance background just prepping for level 1 will get you to the same level as someone with an undergrad finance degree.
Well worth it IMO, even if you stop there
Thanks SC1 . One additional Q.. Were you able to get into relevant role within consulting that aligned with Charter requirements?
