I am planning to leave my firm after busy season and I am wondering if I should let them know this is my last busy season or stay quite and just give my 2 weeks after busy season? I really like the people I work with and I think I could boomerang (read to many posts of people who boomerang and I fit the "type"). Should I tell them know or just stay silent and give my 2 weeks notice?

Stay quiet.

Yep keep that to yourself. You'll have a really different perspective of everything and everyone in your last busy season. It'll probably be a relief to emotionally detach as you go through the motions, get paid, realize how it's just a job, and secretly know that all the indignities and other annoyances you can't stand, soon won't matter anymore.

Just give two weeks after.

Definitely agree - better to just give 2 weeks UNLESS it's the kind of role that no one else knows how to do and you need to be involved in preparing transition documentation.

Once you give your notice the environment changes. I also find it's harder to be motivated, since the dynamic changes.

Please stay quiet. People are not as nice as you think and you will be treated differently.

If you’re close with your team, then it shouldn’t change much by telling them.

Hi Everyone, want to give a quick update, i did give them an early notice and they actually treated me very well. I am actually a manager and i was able to transition my work to an "under study" and left on good terms with everyone. I think my directors and partners understood that they put a lot on me last year and really guided me in not burning bridges. I guess I may be an outlier, thanks for the advice, glad I didn't listen to it :)

I am trying to figure out how to switch to SWE. I have a masters in civil engineering and have a good background in higher level math. It looks like the better coding boot camps are quite expensive. The alternative is another masters in CS which is the same cost as many boot camps. Any recommendations on picking between a coding boot camp and getting another masters degree in CS? I’m looking to get into the best position possible after getting an education in CS (get a job quick and good pay).

How is the career in Pursuits in any Big 4? Does it pay as good as core consulting work? How is the work life balance? I want to make a shift from client chargeable work to BD work for better work life balance. Is it worth switching?

I have about 10yrs of customers service experience. I'm looking for work, but I'm always getting minimum wage for this position. Should I change career path? Or is there a job for customer service that actually pays well.

Fellow enterprise tech sales fish, I’m interested to hear your perspective. I’ve been in a rut lately and seriously considering leaving sales. I think it’s primarily fueled by one thing:
After a 6 mo cycle I closed a large deal (4x the average deal size) prior to receiving delayed 2022 comp plans. The deal counts as a 2022 deal. On last years comp plan it would’ve paid out at 10%. This year it pays out at a measly 4%.

How do you/have you navigated your way through and out of these situations?

I have an offer to join a startup as an APM. The only downside is that the engineering team is located offshore in India. I’m concerned about the resulting impact because of 1) the potential late night calls 2) the learning opportunities missed by not working with a US engineering team (communication tactics, translatable skills) 3) potential exit opps into FAANG pm roles due to not having experience with an onshore eng team. Would any one be able to speak to this from experience or share advice

Thoughts on leaving PA primarily due to the metrics based culture (utilization, dtc, use of X digital tool, revenue, margin, etc). I find this aspect of PA stressful and exhausting but not sure if this is something you just get used to. Currently a manager and seems like the metrics just change over time / don’t get easier.
