Think they did a good job on this piece. It was a truly embarrassing moment for the firm, but I think it’s being handled as well as can be expected. Should go smoothly this year 🤞

Jesus if someone tried to make me attend a virtual happy hour I’d laugh in their face 🤣
PwC12.. it took nearly a year to move. It was worth it for me.
Good luck to you.
Don’t go if you don’t want to. But guess what. Someone might miss your face. Someone might miss waving to you as they pass in the hall. Someone might live alone and need that connection. Someone might live with crappy roommates, spouse, kids - and need either the connection - or the excuse.
I will continue to host happy hours. I miss my teams. I miss waving to the people I recognize. And - a few minutes away from kids/spouse to share a drink with colleagues is something I enjoy - whether or not I am quarantined.
Pwc2 lmao!
Can I be included on the invite please
You gave up drinking for Lent
I did this and drank water. It made resisting harder.
This is an excellent opportunity to catchup with your co-workers! Try to go for 20-30 minutes, well worth it in the long run!
Haha I love my virtual happy hours! A chance to socialize with your teams and you get to see their spouses or kids or pets! I would never be offended if a team member didn’t show up though. If you aren’t comfortable just don’t dial in people won’t question it.
I hate the idea of virtual happy hours where you're expected to buy your own alcohol. At least give a stipend!
Tell them you decided to quit drinking
Don’t respond to the invite, and don’t show. No excuse needed. They’re for the people on the team that need/want human interaction that isn’t 100% about work. The extroverts and people living alone. It’s totally fine to skip it if it’s not your thing. If anyone asks, and they probably won’t, just say you had a headache or a family member called or you were busy cooking. Or that drinking alone or on camera isn’t your thing. Whatever. It’s far less mandatory than you think.
Don’t join! They are optional!
How does everyone talk? When you have like 8+ people..
Converted to mormon
Tell them you need to (virtually / IRL) hang out with family / dog / friends. They don’t *need* you to join. They’re just trying to make sure nobody feels disconnected from the team.
“I think I may have the COVID.”
You have converted to Judaism(not for the jokes!) and are observing the sabbath.
You're practicing social distancing and can't leave home to go for liquor... or no. I just said no.
Tell them you were following the social distancing rules.
When we all get together drink tell some stories
Unplug your WiFi...
Start talking smack on all of your coworkers. You’ll never have to attend another one.
Whole 30
Come up and execute your own idea to keep peoples spirits up.
That is very generous. I’ll DM you my address.
Just join it for 5 min, say hi and disconnect. Say you lost connection
