Mental health is so much better for you. I did the same years ago and I never looked back. I’m in a healthy environment where I make a good income now and I would never change that for more money.
Go for it! Make your move! The grass is always greener on the other side.
Let me guess. Sonrava bought you out? It’s happening here too. Everyone is leaving. Mass exodus. I’ve never seen a company so efficiently run into the ground before. It’s horrible. They’re horrible. Get out and live your life, friend! A healthy work environment is invaluable, and so hard to achieve in dentistry.
It’s the new fancy name for Western Dental. They bought us out towards the end of last year. Prior to that, I actually loved the company I worked for. They were good to us. Great benefits, supported us during the pandemic, etc etc. Then Sonrava came in like a wrecking ball. 😅 What you described sounded so similar to my experience, I thought you must’ve been a victim as well! I’m so sorry you’re having to deal with what you are dealing with, but yay for having that contract end!
I’m feeling the same way. We’re you at heartland or PDS?

DSO?
Yes—and I found a private practice (which is rare ) to move on to and they said I have the complete potential to still make my same income — I think I’m just panicking a little bc the money I made was easy I just was coming home miserable from everyone else being miserable
If you don’t mind me asking, what qualifications did you have to get a position with such a high pay? I’m currently in school for hygiene and would like to prepare for my career. Thank you, wish you the best.
Ive been in dentistry for 18 yrs. I started in sterilization, then DA, I’m also a PA EFDA since 2012. I’ve been an RDH for 3 years. I hustle. I work hard. I found a job that pays me a base +commission services. It’s difficult to find. I understand I’m an anomaly for my region although others do make similar earnings working FT. I’ve traded my happiness for corporate life. There are trade offs. I’ve worked at worse companies but working for one that just doesn’t feel like the care sucks
Sounds like Willamette dental. Worst place ever. Private practice is definitely the way to go.
