I have this!! Mine specifically is plantar fascia hyperhidrosis. I, too, have tried everything and nothing works. I used to be so much more self-conscious in high school than I am now (graduated 10 years ago). It’s still quite annoying, but my biggest recommendations are:
1) get a keyboard cover - I have them specifically for my laptop so the oils/sweat from my hands does not damage the keyboard & can easily be taken off to clean. This can be an easy solution for pretty much any work from home job/computer based job!
2) wear long sleeves when meeting someone new (ie job interview) so you can quickly wipe them off discreetly right before shaking their hand
3) just tell people you have sweaty hands if you’re about to have to physically touch something - I’ve found that 99% of people don’t care, especially when you tell them it’s literally a medical thing. Plus, the only ones who do are likely immature, so they have a long ways to go anyways!
Hope this helps!
Thank you. These are great suggestions. Unfortunately as a 17 yr old high school student he is almost paralyzed at the idea of being in a situation where people can touch or see his hands. The sweat actually drips at times. As soon as he wipes his hand the sweat instantly reappears. It’s awful. 😔
There is a newer product out called Carpe - they have a product specifically for hands. I’ve had great success.
We’ve tried all their products and they didn’t help 😔
My daughter suffered from this. Her dermatologist prescribed her glycopyrrolate. This has changed her life for the best. I wish you and your son the best!!
He tried that and it made his eyes extremely dry and he started getting at least 3 nose bleeds a day. 😔
Remote tech work - he can have the privacy of working from home.
Can he work in a garden center at Home Depot or Lowe’s or local nursery? Stocker at a grocery store (wearing gloves?)
Good suggestions! Thanks

I had/have a similar condition. I used drysol, which I'm sure you've tried. On a positive note, it eventually got better as an adult. Sorry, I don't have any suggestions for your actual question, but good luck!
Same for my husband and I, we can’t hold hands in the summer. For what it’s worth, I think he can still get a job in corporate. I just avoid touching other peoples keyboards
Ohhh I’m so sorry!! There is a surgeon here in San Antonio that only deals with this issue. He has a high success rate of people getting relief from this issue. This was going to be our next step if the medication didn’t work. Let me see if I can find his name. I’m not sure how you feel about surgery , but maybe it’s an option. I’m send positive energy in hopes he finds something that works for him.
Here’s the doctor David H. Nielson, MD FACS
I’m so sorry to hear that. I was talking to my daughter about this earlier. We are both sending good vibes !! We know how hard this is. We hope one day he can find total relief. Until then just know y’all are not alone in this.

My sweaty hands used to drip when I was younger, it was horrible. I grew out of it somehow. Tell your son it will get better! Also a call center customer support job will be easy, he can just wipe off his computer when he’s done.
