Deloitte experienced hires, who all received written offers and in process of visa/ onboarding, have you heard back anything about hiring freeze? Or recruiter asked you to delay joining date?
My visa got submitted couple of days back and waiting for decision. When I reached out to recruiter to give her an update and mentioned once there’s decision will discuss on the start date before putting my 2 weeks, she mentioned “Yes, we should talk before you put notice” - Am I overthinking? Clear yes - tenure of one year isn’t going to be a detractor in the long run - go to BCG
Go for it. I left a boutique at ~18 months for entry level at bcg and would do it again in an instant
Pro
Probably. Do you plan on staying in consulting for at least one promo cycle at BCG? If yes, then make the jump. If you're planning on leaving consulting soon anyways, would personally just wait out the promo to C and then try to line up a better exit.
I am planning on staying thru grad school unless I exit to vc, a boutique consultancy, or enviro research institution which probably won’t happen - will probs stay consulting for next 3-5 years at least
Is there any risk that at BCG you only have 1 year to get promoted or else you’re out?
O hell yea that’s great, happy for ya
No brainer. Take it.
Run and don’t look back
Yes, take it

What was interview process like?
What if I add on that I do rlly cool work with rlly cool ppl at D?
It will be nothing compared to the cool work you'll do at BCG. It's like a fish being happy swimming in their aquarium and then one day being set free to swim in the Atlantic Ocean.
I’m new and kinda dumb so maybe this is a ridiculous question - but would it be crazy for OP to talk to somebody they know and trust AT Deloitte, maybe somebody a year or 2 older than them and ask them for advice?
Nah, terrible move. I tried before in my previous job. The next day after the convo, my project was freezing & I was on the bench till I left
Has anyone negotiated for a year of tenure at BCG? Curious to learn what worked and what didn’t etc.
I’m 25; and I’m very confident I would do fine in a Senior Associate or Associate level 2 role at bcg. Ive been succeeding doing ~4 Consultant level roles in a row at Deloitte for past eight months so no worries there… the bcg A1 offer feels under-qualified and that’s why I hesitate to take it.
Yes, far better culture and better Org, but you will have to step your performance up 3-4 levels to succceed
Just accepted a different MBB with 9 months of tenure…
