Any hot leads on Workers Compensation roles?
I have 12+ yoe. I work in AWS with a 23L base, 13L JB and 5 RSU (29.8L ), L4. I am about to receive an offer from ADP . What band/grade would be great to negotiate. For ADP anything around 45L-48L including 12% variable (not sure about JB) is considered to be the right offer? I have another offer from Accenture 32L fixed, 10L variable, 6.4L JB. I guess wlb in Accenture would be more difficult than ADB?? What's your view fishes !!! Consider AWS and ADP in Hyderabad where Accenture in home town

What firm in that tier is going to double your comp as a 3rd year? Only one I could think of is Wachtell (maybe). If that's the case, you'll be billing way more than 2100
Yep. At least one I guess. Really like the culture so I wouldn’t leave for anything but cravath.
How is the comp difference that much? Seems weird unless you are in the Milwaukee office or something and going to NYC.
Ha! Not Jones Day.

Second A1. You're only gonna double your comp if you double your misery.
If you like where you are, imh there’s gotta be more than money driving the decision, like an opportunity to work certain clients or industries you’re interested in for long term career development, significant careee development opportunities otherwise, no commute, etc.
This is helpful, thank you.
You said in comments that the pay increase comes from bonuses, but is the bonus really guaranteed when you move over? Recognize that lateral life is hard (unless you've heard otherwise from laterals at new firm) and it could be hard to ramp up hours if you don't already know people who are going to give you 2100hrs of work when you get there. I wouldn't assume a lateral move = basically same work for more money. If the culture at your current firm is good, any possibility of enhancing bonus structure, even discretionary bonuses? Would your current firm take you back if new firm makes you want to slit your wrists and come crawling back? Some things to consider before jumping ship, good culture may mean they want to have these conversations before they have to look for your replacement (firms hate paying headhunter fees and it sounds like they can't leave your position empty)
I’ve already lateraled once. I picked up work right away which I’ll grant you might have been usually and lucky but I scrap pretty well for hours. I do think your post makes the most sense and is by far the most helpful. Everyone else seems to think I’m some chump getting shafted or just denies the facts I’ve asserted. Very “big law” of them. I’m going to stay put. Love my current firm.
What kind of amlaw20 firm doesn’t pay bonuses? Sounds like you’re getting shafted and should leave. You’re billing 2100 hours anyway, you should be compensated the same as everyone else in biglaw.
But keep in mind bonuses are discretionary and may get revamped again with no or smaller bonuses this year because of pandemic etc. Is your new firm guaranteeing you a certain 2020 bonus?
I never said I don’t get bonuses. I do. They just aren’t nearly what cravath bonuses are. Also, I know I’m paid in line with my peers.
The money doesn’t come for free. Unless you’re going to make extreme amounts of money and you’re ok sacrificing even more of your life sometimes staying put is the best choice.
