I have been a clinical research coordinator at UCSF for a reputable research group for the past 2 years and I need some advise as I am considering moving into healthcare consulting! I went to a non prestigious state college and got a degree in neuro with a low gpa. My former UCSF colleague went to healthcare consulting at ZS and recommended me for a Associate job there. However, I did not get the job. What’s the best thing I can do to get into healthcare consulting? I’d appreciate any advice!

For the CFE, did you do anything in addition to the ACFE prep course? The course is just practice questions, so I’m wondering where I can actually learn the information first before that.

I’ve been on the bench with J1 for about 3 months. I was worried that because I couldn’t find another project, I would get laid off so I found J2, which pays more, is very meeting heavy, but I really like. I’ve kept J1 because I’m still on the bench doing absolutely nothing and getting paid. Thinking about looking for a role on a project with J1 that’s not along my career path but will allow for me to do work with no calls so that I can manage both jobs. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.
