Look up sebaceous filament vs blackheads. You may be dealing with SF or both. I have a lot of SF on my nose. BHAs can help reduce them but personally for me they have never totally gone away but consistent skin care routine helps a lot.
Omg you’re amazing. Always wondered what was on my nose!!
Since BHA is oil-soluble and can dissolve sebum and other particles clogging the pore lining, regular use of a BHA exfoliant for sebaceous filaments can greatly help.
Have you heard about the Bentonite clay? I have terrible blackheads and strips and other products are not working for me. Only the mask did well for my problem. It made my skin like looking fresh too.
Make sure you exfoliate atleast once a week or even twice if your skin falls on the oilier side. Soak some glycolic acid or salicylic on a cotton pad and make a sort of chemical peel pad out of it.
When it comes to enhancing skin texture, retinol is the industry standard. The ingredient's ability to control cell turnover helps avoid clogged pores and the buildup of debris in sebaceous filaments. One or two nights each week, start using a retinol serum or cream; as your skin becomes more tolerant, gradually increase your usage.
I found that exfoliating helps get rid of my blackheads. I use a physical exfoliant so I only do this twice a week. Leaves my skin smooth.
Salicylic Acid is my best friend. I have an oily skin type that's why I always blackheads. But not anymore since discovering salicylic acid.
I use Cetaphil's Derma Control Purifying Clay Mask. I swear by this, OP! I use this twice or thrice a week and I've never had blackhead problems since.
I have been using retinol for my acne but little did I know, it also prevents and treats blackheads. I just knee that it was because of retinol when I researched about it again.
Salicyclic acid is the best solution to your problem, OP. Try Revision Skincare Purifying Cleansing Gel. But I think it would be best to research further about what's right for you.
Use a cleanser with AHA and BHA ingredients. They combat blackheads. Ask your derma on how best to use it though.
Hi! Have ever heard of the method called "oil pulling"? It is basically using a cleansing balm or oil to pull out the gunk out of your pores.
Do not ever try baking soda. As a friend I am telling you to not destroy your skin. Okay? Now, BHA (salicylic acid) is your best bet. I think The Ordinary has a cheap one, and COSRX, too. Don't neglect to moisturize, with acids. (Well, never neglect to moisturize, but even less so with acids.)
you could try using a cleansing oil. Blackheads are essentially gunk and sebum lodged in the pores. Since oil mixes with oil, an oil based cleanser can help dissolve the sebum and make the blackhead less noticeable.
Mineral oil is excellent at removing blackheads.
The best and cheapest way to procure mineral oil is baby oil. Baby oil is mineral oil with fragrance. I grab targets baby oil from the baby section for less than $2. Hope this helps!
Paula’s choice BHA will save you.

Seconding Paula's Choice - the products are amazing and you do start to see a benefit if you are consistent enough with the routine for a few weeks!
Seconding all the BHA comments! You also might want to reevaluate what products you’re using, they may be contributing.
I would also include regular medical grade peels using BHA (salicylic) acids. These will penetrate deeper and exfoliate. This step along with at home skincare (options mentioned above are great) will make a huge difference! I believe medical grade peels are highly undervalued and are an affordable, very effective treatment for many skin conditions.
