Hi Arshad. I have been in a law enforcement career for approximately 18 years. You can definitely make a career out of it over here in the US with your experience. However it will depend on what state you decide to go to that will determine if you can just join the force or if you have to go through an academy. Most states have a standardized set of learning criteria you have to meet before being appointed to a career in Law Enforcement. So expect to go through some type of academy to start off. And most hiring processes will take several months (can be anywhere from 4-12 months) to finish a background check on you, and if you are coming from another country, expect that time frame to be a bit longer. Salary is another thing that varies by extreme amounts based on the state and agency you decide to join. I am in California and most agencies here pay very well. Usually starting around $80,000 a year. I was making about $150,000 a year with overtime, $120,000 without when I left the agency I worked for. Hope this helps in your decision making.
