I have years of experience in industry (general accounting) and want to go back to PA. I know I may start from associate since I don’t have tax (not enough and years ago) and audit experience. Do I go apply the associate job on campus hire?
I also find some advisory jobs or financial consulting jobs (act like the accounting department for clients) match to my current experience. Does it worth it to work in a public accounting firm for those or better off just stay in industry if I go that route.

What's your reason for wanting to go PA?

like

You need two years of tax to start as a senior in public (generally). You should apply for that title and learn on the job. PA vs Industry, depends on your goals, life style etc.

Is experienced staff more suitable for my background? I don’t have tax experience. The only one I have for two years was 6 years ago.

How much are you paid right now and what is your title?

Not very great on promotion and very limited. I’m willing to take a pay cut.

Previously I tried to get into PA and almost got the offer from one national firm but received rejection due to they are not willing to sponsor the work visa.

So is my change through campus recruiting or wait for an experienced staff to open?

Boomer. I am in between jobs. Laid off in 10/21 after 16+ yrs, with an ABA firm. RIF. Still on excellent terms. Took my time living off generous package and didn’t seriously start applying until 01/22. Made a rookie mistake and accepted first offer.
Turns out job wasn’t as advertised. Mutual parting of ways 3/22. Due diligence is critical.
Now interviewing a LOT. Some temp work, I still have “it”. I relate to all gens. Willing to mentor AND learn from all. Tech savvy, CTE from day one. Leads?

It is mostly just odd I’m not super offended, but I’m also clearly uninterested!
