I just applied to Salesforce for a BDR role. I don't have a Bachelor's but I have more than two years of BDR experience at Paychex as well as an Associates Degree in Business Admin. I personally messaged a recruiter on LinkedIn about my values and why I want to work for Salesforce. No response. Anyone else apply or those of you that work there, what are your tips for breaking in?

It's very competitive right now, so don't feel discouraged. However, personally, my company likes to see people come through the hiring page rather than LinkedIn. If you want the most eyeballs go and fill out an application

like

I did! I just let the recruiter know that I did as well :) thanks so much for the insight! Do you know how long they typically take to get back to you after you fill out an application?

Out of curiosity how was your experience at paychex? You cab dm me if you like.. I had a recruiter reach out to me from there

Its ok I dont mind sharing. Honestly in the beginning it was fine. It's a good place to get your feet wet.

It also really depends on the leadership you have. They're huge on activity numbers as opposed to revenue on the SDR side which I'm not super keen on. There's also some weird stuff going on with the appointment booking cycle for SDR's. I'd definitely look on glassdoor. The reviews kind speak for themselves too.

Frequent travels required through Europe 6 months out of the year. Responsible for tech consultation with customers on pre-sales, system integration post-sale + training customers on product /fixing problems on their site.

The interviewer said to me to add 30% on my current salary and ask for that. Now I’m asking for £97k. Reasonable?

How do I argument £97k when they try to negotiate?

Would love to connect with anyone they may have made a similar transition from management consulting to pre sales. I have 2 years of experience in SaaS sales but that was about 4 years ago. Thanks!

I would really appreciate some suggestions for roles that I should be applying for. I recently started my MBA though I'm still having trouble landing interviews and think I should be applying for different roles than I have been. My MBA concentration is global business, my BS was in management with a minor in professional writing. I've been working in cosmetics mainly on the customer service side, currently senior support for the CS team and have experience doing CS on social media.

Has anyone worked in Sales at Samsara? I’m being interviewed for a Mid-Market position and the OTE is 170K which seems a bit low. The recruiter said most mid-market reps are making well into 200K with stock options and what not, with some top performers getting to 300K. Is this realistic because I’m not seeing that on glassdoor at all. I’m also interviewing with several other companies for similar positions targeting 220K with bases around 110K. I’m not sure I can go back to a base under 100K.

My quota is based on invoiced sales that resets quarterly. This includes a sliding-scale commission % based on how far you’re at on your quarterly goal (towards quota) which is checked/paid once a month. The only thing that goes toward our quota is PAID sales. This excludes orders still being processed by DE (largest orders) and customers still within NET payment terms. We don’t get paid until the company gets paid. Am I missing warning potential? Am I being expected of A and judged on B?
