If they think you’re qualified, you probably are.
Is the salary you requested more than what you currently or last make/made?
I wouldn’t think you’re unqualified just by that, salary offerings are weird per person/account. Some offer more or less for the same exact position at the same agency depending on what account you’re on, it can also be varied by agency itself and how they view talent.
In the interview, when they tell me the salary is higher than I expected, I’d say “normally, I’d ask for around that amount, however I understand the effect that the pandemic has on everyone and I didn’t want to price myself out of a great opportunity, with that said - the salary you presented is what I’m more use to and aligned with”.
Welcome to Agency life 🤣
Gone are the days of the “company man” where you’d work your butt off and the company would respect/grow you as talent of the company.

My last raise freaked me out initially, too. I get it. It changed my POV to be like “If they think I’m this good, I should learn how to be this good within 3-6 months.” I focused on people I admired who were already at the new level a while and picked specific behaviors to adopt
Also, if you’re in a position to avoid lifestyle creep — bank that $30k as a kind of “make good” for the time you were underpaid
Nah you’re just underpaid at the moment.
I had a similar thing happen to me going from an agency that seriously underpaid me to one that paid me a competitive amount (and I was able to haggle extra PTO).
What’s the new title?
Global Ops Manager
Did they tell you that and then say "oh well, too bad, you get what you get" or did they offer to put you down for the $30k more that they think you deserve?
Well, then if I were you I wouldn't feel underqualified at all. I'd feel maybe like I've been underpaid and made to question my actual worth by my current/former employer. And I'd be a little upset about that. But I'd also feel pretty good knowing that now I'm at least working with someone who's encouraging me to get what I'm owed.
