I just joined Deloitte and have to move my 401k to vanguard to comply with independence. Is there a way to do this that won’t hurt given the market right now?

Only risk is if markets jump while in transition, correct? Not sure why it is and worse now than any other time other than it's volatile.

I feel like this is a better time than last year. Last year waiting two weeks to gave the transfer complete would have made it that you had to buy in at a higher price. At least now you have the chance to possibly buy in at a lower price due to the volatility

In this same predicament. Answer is no. Timing could not be worse

like

I would just wait a little

Did you get an offer during this whole virus situation.

Good luck!

Any way to transfer without selling/fees? Should be possible so you don’t have to realize any gains/losses during this period.

Ah yeah.. you could possible try looking for alternative brokers/trusts to hold your funds by setting up a holding company but ofc that’s on the grey line + a lot of effort

I moved my trad ira to 401k. Money moved out from ira when market was down and moved into 401k when market was up. I am too scared to even calculate how much I lost

😬

It takes time to move so the market could swing up.

OP has a point. I would wait a little and let the volatility pass first.

Hi Team
I've declared the tax under my profile payroll and what is the use of FCP?

Loan payment question. I have two federal loans. One has no accumulated interest and is ~$110k. One has about $19k of accumulated interest (I previously made an embarrassingly low amount of money), but the total is ~$140k. While the interest is still frozen, do I: 1) make payments on the $110k principal amount only to maximize driving it down; 2) make payments on the $140k principal amount only to maximize driving it down; 3) make payments on the $19k of interest on the $140k loan; or 4) ??
