I recently interviewed for L7 EM at Google and had 4 great interviews and one not so great system design. I submitted external referrals all of which gave great feedback. The recruiter said the next step is team match/interviews and then the HC. Anyone in a similar situation? What was the result? Google

It would go through to HR screening first and then be passed along to the hiring manager unless it’s a smaller firm and the hiring manager is posting the job directly.
Yeah you're typically not going to bypass the HR screening just because there is a referral. In most cases, you'll still go through that screening process, but I have heard that sometimes the hiring manager is alerted to the referral at the same time so they know to watch for the application

Depends on the company but HR would look at it more closely with it being a referral
Yep it usually will still go through the HR screening process OP. Which is unfortunate because I thought for the longest time that it would immediately go to the hiring manager because you got a direct referral, but alas, I was wrong.
