Received an offer for a BizOps Manager role at Instacart for 108K base + 150RSU over 4 years. Previous big 4 consulting experience & smaller tech startup experience - 4.5YOE total. Current base is higher but lower equity potential. Any Thoughts?
Cross posted from Personal Investment Chatter. Am I stupid for making an offer on a house with the following financials: Total comp ~$340k/ take home annually after taxes etc ~$188k. House is $830k, put $215k down. Monthly mortgage of $4040 inc. principal/interest/taxes/insurance. I have no other debt and liquid non-retirement savings of ~$240k after the down payment. The numbers seem to work but I am nervous.
I was caught off guard at my compensation meeting by getting a raise to $100k but also getting a promotion. The raise was decent and it was the minimum I was expecting, but since I got promoted as well I thought the amount should have been higher. We offered a potential candidate $100k for my previous title. For future reference, how can I bring that up without sounding ungrateful and unappreciative? Thoughts?
4 years of experience in IT field prior to my masters and have 2 years in D as C. Planning to jump as SC to another big 4. How much can I negotiate for? P.S my base city is one of the expensive cities
Unexpectedly leaving consulting for industry. Background isn’t in apparel but got an offer to join a large international apparel company as a product director and decided to make the jump. Current TC is $183k with annual bonus between 10-20%. New TC will be $200k, $50k signing, annual bonus of 15-40%, and progression path to VP. Will also be managing teams around the world, so opportunity to travel internationally, which is a perk in my book.
As an experienced hire, will my raises be any lower if I came in at a relatively high salary? ACN/CD&O/SA with 4 YOE
Which areas pays more than Big 4. Techo/Functional Background. SM here. I should have known but can’t seem to find. All I can think is another Big 4 :(
What does everyone think about RSMs healthcare consulting practice? Worth making a change?

Has anyone taken time off work because of their mental health? Did it help? Feel like I am at a breaking point but worried if I do it once I’ll end up doing it for the rest of my career
I’m confused. I was furloughed from a regional firm, and I’m scared of being laid off. I have an offer from a small cpa firm and an offer from a mid tier firm. My goal has always been to join b4, and I’m going to try when the hiring freeze (HF) is lifted...but what should I do right now? 1. Stay at regional, apply to b4 after HF 2. Take mid tier offer, apply to b4 after HF 3. Take small firm offer, apply to b4 after HF 4. Take mid tier offer, become senior, and then apply to b4 2 years later
Non-US / UK consulting partners - I have been long following the posts here. What I realise is that the US partners feel very strongly that being a B4 partner is best opportunity once could have (maybe just followed by FAANG). With the $1M+ pay and a pension, potentially it makes a lot of sense. With no pensions and some of start ups, Tech companies paying more in other countries, global roles (vs local focus) - what are your views about considering opportunities outside B4
I am starting in a classroom next week for my first teaching job. Any suggestions on how to be successful? I've reread First Days of School again, but any other reading suggestions or experiences I can learn from? I'm transitioning from a Classified Position.
For folks who went through power day for senior business analyst at Capital One , do you need to get the 4th interview to get an offer?
FYI, for anyone interested in facts from a reputable publication This is the house response so far : “While I recognize the sincerity of all members and senators struggling to find solutions, unfortunately the provisions sent to the House by the Senate yesterday most likely make matters worse, not better,” said Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D., Calif.), chairwoman of the House Judiciary subcommittee on immigration, who sponsored the House bill. Never considered an MBA so not well versed in this. Price seems huge 🥺. Starting to question its relevance in today's society - does MBA have slowly eroding value?
