Depends on your definition of WLB.
Public has more flexibility the higher up you go.
Private is more rigid with set hours each day.
Overall hours- you’ll work more in public than private. But public has more flexibility of when you need to work those hours

I work for a large publicly traded company. I WFH and work 35-40hrs per week, weeks 2-4 of every month. Month end close occurs the first week and I work 45-50hrs. This is typical and can vary if we have a large acquisition or something but doesn’t deviate too much.
That’s interesting gotcha. Yeah I guess large public’s who have good processes are way better off than privates.
