Accounting

I look at the jobs on LinkedIn and get sad because I don't see anything that ever interest me and I fear I will get stuck in public accounting without an exit plan.

You’re a staff, you’re 25 years old and you can basically go do anything you want. Job boards are full of boring, unfulfilling roles that companies have to pay big $ to recruiters to find people to take. Get creative and find your own route. If you don’t want to be an accountant, don’t be an accountant. There are people from my audit start class / accounting program who own bars and yoga studios, are in med school, working in fashion, getting MBAs from Stanford and HBS, early employees at potentially successful (and well funded) tech startups.

LinkedIn is not the place to look at job postings. I don’t trust recruiters but feel you have to use them because they have access to the good accounting jobs.
