I am looking for two new teachers (0-5 years) who would be interested in participating in a study I am doing as a Doctoral Candidate at Baylor. The study looks to understand the experiences women working in the field of education have had that triggered shame and explore their resilience. If you are interested, click the link below to get started: bit.ly/ShameResilienceStudy

What exactly do you want them to know about pov? What activities did you do and how do they correlate with the quiz?
I find this skill is very task-dependent. I used to have them read the “True Story of the 3 Little Pigs” and the original version and identify the differences in the two stories and their POV.
I gave my students an open-book quiz on rhetorical devices and then, a week later, the same quiz as a closed-book because I wanted to see what they remembered. It worked quite well.
I use the text Voices in the Park by A. Browne. Once the students become familiar with the text, their excitement and understanding grow as to the power of POV. This understanding has carried over since Grade 2 (I teach ESL K-5). When someone forgets POV, all another student has to whisper Voices and the light goes on.
