I promise I’m not trying to be one of *those* people who always say they’re leaving social media for attention, but I’ve noticed a serious increase in my mood and less doom scrolling when I deleted this app for the past couple of weeks. I come back when I need something or get some free time then delete it again. I suspect I was getting cyclical reading the rants of consultants and lawyers complaining all day about hating their jobs, and I think it kind of spread to me and made me cynical.

I like screentime limits. Helps keep me accountable of how long I’m scrolling.

I’ve also found it helpful to make to do lists of things I have to do before I get to use social media.

Just sharing in case it’s relevant for you. I never noticed it and didn’t know why my mood had been so jaded for several months.

It’s okay to take a break and come back and forth, and if this place is great for your mental health it’s also okay to just stay here 😊 do what works for you.

Ugh, you’re totally right. I feel anxious and sometimes angry after reading the lawyer posts—though it is helpful to see so many people validating the patterns I’ve observed and to give useful advice. I set a timer now for 20 mins or so, but the FOMO is real.

Hey fishes,

I’ve been having a super hard time concepting lately, especially knowing that the “concept” will mostly serve as a sticker to slap on the cover of a CVA and the top of a website. I feel like every pharma concept I’ve ever seen or created becomes so cheesy once it appears in tactics. Does anyone have any examples of HCP creative (non-DSA) that is both impactful and translates well into pharma tactics?

I am being asked to move to Richmond, VA for Sr. Mgr. Supply Chain Analytics role in an organization that is dire need of help.

I am currently at 146k TC, they are offering 190k TC.

I originally wanted a director level role to set the strategy, process, and tools.

Instead I am just being asked to develop the tools.

My hypothesis is a clear lack of strategy and no accountability for process compliance will mean any tools developed will fail.

Can anyone offer advice for helping with adderall side effects? I was diagnosed a few months ago and I am new to medication. I have been taking 20 mg xr in the morning but have a terrible crash around 2/3pm each day where I just get very very tired. Doctor recommended 10mg ir mid day to combat but I still experience pretty severe fatigue as a side effect. Just wondering if anyone has found any natural strategies to cope or mitigate. Thanks!

How do you all deal with time management - and specifically time estimate - problems?

I always underestimate how long things will take, both because we ADHD’ers view time differently and because I don’t build in time for getting distracted.

I work with a partner who asks me by when I can get something done rather than giving a deadline. I appreciate the flexibility but I always short sell myself and end up pulling all-nighters to meet my self-imposed unrealistic deadlines.

Does anyone work in an area with lots of exterior environmental noise (traffic, concerts, trains, etc.) and have tips for not becoming overwhelmed and/or distracted by it? I’m finding that environmental noise has increased near my office now that tourism has picked back up in my city, and I’m struggling to block it out. I’ve tried earplugs but the noises tend to vibrate my office building so the earplugs don’t work well as an entire block.

What are your strategies for completing work efficiently? How do you figure out how long projects should take? A consistent piece of feedback on my yearly reviews has been that I over-bill & spend too much time on assignments. It’s something I actively work on, but I still have no concrete sense of how long I should spend on basic tasks (e.g., drafting a motion to dismiss). My firm is right to expect that I manage my time better as a mid-level associate. WFH has made my time management worse.

One of my frustrations with myself (writing it out here so I can work on it) is that I will print out something that I need, such as a traffic collision report. I will read it without actually reading it. This results in spending time without actually retaining info. Does this happen to anyone else? I’ve found that I can actually focus when I truly force myself, but often this happens after I’ve discovered an error or an important piece of information that I should have noticed earlier.
