I really want to get a remote job, I just hate commuting to the office so much I might even be willing to take a pay deduction! Is that a good trade off for you or do you like being in the office when you work?

I’ve been remote for over 5 years now and love it. I don’t miss the office politics, the cliques, the nasty potlucks or smell bathrooms and I definitely don’t miss being in traffic for an hour each way. To what’s best for you and your mental health.

Yeah I enjoy chatting to my coworkers and everything I can just see myself getting so much more out of remote work.

I don’t mind a hybrid schedule as long as it’s no more than two days a week in the office. Being there for meetings and collaboration is helpful, but I don’t want to be in the office five days a week. I genuinely enjoy being fully remote — even if it means a little less pay.

That’s the thing rn I’m 3 days in office and I think it’s 1 day too many.

Depends on a number of factors

It does!

HR opinion: Do I have any leverage as a hospital nurse case manager in negotiating earned time? I have 15 years within the organization, left for 10 months to be remote during the pandemic while sorting out childcare as immunocompromised family helped. I thought I’d have the upper hand with the nursing shortage but I’m getting the “rules are rules” response. Help!?!

I’ve been approached my by company that one of our large clients (who im currently project managing for) is looking for a consultant of sorts, and if they hire us, I’d be the first person asked to take on this consultant role. This isn’t something my company typically offers and would greatly change the scope of my role. Has anyone ever taken on a role like this? If so, were you able to negotiate a percentage of the consulting fee? Or was it a bump in salary during the project?

Do you still have opportunity to negotiate salary when you’re going thru a recruiter and they tell you the range upfront?
