What do the commissions look like? In the midwest with 2 years of experience, I don't think this is a bad salary (assuming you're not in a bigger midwest city). I'm in Mountain West (SLC) and even though we're not considered a big city our cost of living is very high so 60k + commission would be a tight squeeze on my cost of living/monthly expenses
I live in Des Moines, IA & that’s a 20% raise from what I have now, commission structure is 1000 if my KPIs are met, 100 for 1 new customer brought on then so fourth till 5 customers = 1k 10% of all GM after 850 threshold.
That’s extremely low for an account exec in SaaS
Search online for the median income levels in your industry, in your specific area. Then go to your states website to see if they have any income historical data for most recent year, specific to your industry. Sometimes one town over could pay more/less, this will give you some leverage to ask for a bit more if needed. You should find local data to base your decision on. Plus don’t forget to take into consideration expense accounts, car stipend, driving yours or theirs, ask about who is paying what for normal role activities. Be sure you get those latter details in writing before you accept.
