I just got an offer from EY in London but considering based on what the maternity policy is which doesn’t seem to be spelt out in contract or benefits pdf. Does anyone know a) if there’s a minimum employment period to qualify and b) what the enhanced maternity pay is. I’ve read both 16 weeks and 18 weeks.

Congratulations! I don’t know answers to your specific questions, but, if you’re in NY the Paid Family Leave Act will pay you a mat leave if you’ve worked a certain number of weeks, which you would have, and protect your job as well.
Happened to me. I was able to negotiate as if I were there for a year. They were pretty chill about it.
Have you already spoken to HR? I started my job in January and am having my baby in Sept and I’m still eligible for 14 weeks fully paid.

Talk with them. You’ll never know if you don’t ask. I had no FMLA and I took 8 weeks with 2 weeks paid mat leave and the rest STD. They would not let me use PTO in conjunction because that would “change the mat leave policy and it’s not fair to other women.” I am one of 2 women on my team. Needless to say, I’m beat and I’m about to take 6 weeks additional PFL. I’m based in NY and the original person who said no is no longer with the company so cool. It’s your time. Figure out the finances and see what you can swing. You’ll want as much time as you can. And in NY with PFL, you have I believe an additional 12 weeks partially paid that can be taken throughout the first year of baby’s life.
I’d negotiate with them on flexing the policy since the timing is so close. There are agencies these days that don’t even have a service requirement to qualify for parental leave. You’ll know real quick if you’re at a parent-friendly employer depending on how they react. Good luck, and congrats! I also started a new job earlier this year and am pregnant.
May depend if they are self-insured or using a short term disability provider
Congratulations! Definitely ask if you can take advantage of the full leave. Many companies will accommodate. If they don’t (I really hope they do), you could try negotiating a prorated leave. Say you served 80% of the requirement, perhaps they honor 80% of the leave/benefit. This will all be so telling as a company. Best of luck!
I was a few days off the one year mark because my baby was born a little early and they refused to give me the paid leave as if I had been there for a year. If you can start the negotiation now. I didn't say anything beforehand because my baby was supposed to be born after I had been there for a year and after the baby was born, I tried negotiating but there were so many things I needed to focus on that after the 4th time they said no, I just dropped it.
CPM1 so sorry you went through that. Were you at an agency? Was there a holding company?
