I am seeing stellar returns and extremely low expense ratios but apparently since they're quantitatively managed algorithms, they don't account for things like corona for example.

I left my first firm (so toxic) after four months and it honestly has not impacted my career at all. Definitely have something lined up before you leave and plan to stay there for a bit so you don’t look like you’re hopping around, but also don’t overthink it. You have to do what is best for you, personally and professionally.
Agree completely with A1. I left after 3 months. Just make sure you have a clear explanation in job interviews that doesn't bash your current employer (I cited to the lack of growth opportunities)
I left one job after 6 months and I only wish I had done it sooner. As long as you don’t make it a habit it’s fine.
Same for me!
Get out, and always look up. Im a 2019 grad, took an ID job paying 65k out of school. Left it after 6 months for another ID shop for 80k. Then a year and 3 months later, went to a firm that did more surety lit and coverage for 105k. 18 months later i am at a PI firm making 125k base and im happier than i have been in years. Dont worry about conventional wisdom, do whats right for you
I feel like it is one of the strangest things to make yourself suffer because of a “resume” and the worry of being questioned negatively about a personal choice you made (that was best for your mental and overall health). You’re in a toxic environment and hate your job; why would you tough it out just bc it “looks bad” on paper? Interviewers aren’t miserable at this job - you are; they’re not suffering - you are. Life is too short. Don’t “stick it out” for anyone nor anything. It’s like an abusive/toxic/unhealthy relationship… would you “tough it out”?
Another question: if this was your bestie, sibling, family member, etc. expressing feelings of misery at a job, what would you tell them?
I’m at a toxic job (no savings to just quit) and I’ve been here for 10 months. Biggest feedback I keep getting in interviews and screeners and from recruiters is it’s been too little time at my job to offer me a job
As someone who moved twice already because the second place was toxic, I would say do your diligence on a new place before joining - try to look into whether you’d get along/generally would like who you work with your team(s), there’s enough partners doing the specific work you want to practice so you can have different sources for work, are okay with billable and non billable expectations considering their compensation, and consider your exit options
Don’t worry about that, people move jobs all the time. Unless you have several jobs in a row with short tenure, future employers really won’t care about this.
