I swear the promotion process is based more on who golfs with the directors than on actual work. Anyone else feel this way?

I am RTL design engineer at Qualcomm with YOE 3.5 and this AR cycle I'm expecting promotion as Senior design engineer.
For Bangalore location, What market correction I should expect and what should be the base salary after promotion? What is the general hike?

Any struggling paralegals here? Do you feel like your financial situation is affecting your productivity at work? I like the work I do but the pay really sucks. I feel like the fear of not being able to pay some bills on time is affecting my productivity. I’ve asked for a raise but that may not still cut it, and idk if that will go through or not.

What is a reasonable pay increase + bonus? This will be my first pay increase. I make 70k and I will be starting my second year at big law (immigration). I had 2 years of prior experience before joining the firm. My manager rated me highest in all areas and mentioned she recommended me for promotion but it may not happen until next cycle since there are limited number of promotions to give. I will get a pay increase regardless so I want to negotiate in case I don’t get a “good” increase.

Just found out that end of the year I will be promoted from analyst directly to VP and since it’s such a large jump I’ll be the lowest paid VP in asset management at only $135k TC. Should I stay it out and wait for TC to align or take the promotion and jump ship bc I will likely get paid more elsewhere given how recruiters/other companies eat up hiring recently promoted ppl from other firms?

How much % raise they usually offer for the one getting promoted from 601 —> 602?

Also, how much % raise one can ask for?

I am in PDM Specialist/ senior consultant 1 &2. This is my promotion year. How do i conform the next title is PDM specialist 2 or the PDM manager?

Learned I was making less than peers at other asset managers in NYC with less experience (14 years). Latest conversation was with HR about how they calculate salaries. If she got ~$100k in signing bonus in 2019 for 1 year commitment in CA and started FT in July 2020, assuming she leaves before July 2021, can her employer claw back full amount in California? Some say it's much tougher to do so under CA law but wonder if anyone has any insights. Banks won't likely care about analyst signing bonuses, but associate bonus at EB with diversity bonus can be significant. If she quits before, she won't be going to another bank.

Interesting all the noise about these PPT, my take:

The pandemic took all the upside of an IB analyst life (client meetings in person, fancy trips, suit up, worshiped at networking events) and left all the juniors with the downside (long hours, monkey-like type of job, aggressive work environment).

Not that the complaints are not sort of legitimate but you may need to revise the decision-making process that led you to accept a return offer. Specially if you were looking for less hours.
