I take medication to manage symptoms at work and be a productive human. I’m also newly single and dating. I don’t like taking my medication on days I have dates because I feel like it blunts my eq and takes away some of my “spark”, which matters for being relaxed and confident while dating. Anyone else experience this/have tips?

I do the same thing. I find when I take my medication, I feel way too locked in and intense to relax and really enjoy my company. If I have to take it the day I've got a social commitment, I try to at least take it a little earlier than usual so its effects are waning by the time the work day ends.

Just came to say samessss, and that it really sucks to have to be on meds that have these types of effects. But without, we cannot properly function…

Aren't you supposed to have days off? I just take weekends off and do my dating at the same time

like

I totally feel the same and I also take days off. Did someone tell you there's something wrong with that? I feel like it's pretty normal to not take it every single day. I feel like I'm too mellow/focused when I take it, and I think that part of what makes me me is the high energy. So when I'm with friends or on a date, I try not to take it.

Hello,

I hope someone here can help me 🫶🏽. I graduated from Rutgers Business School with a double major in Supply Chain Management and Marketing, 2021. I am currently an Area Operations Manager at Amazon ( 7 months in the role). However, I am looking for a better opportunity.

I feel burned out working 14/15 hours a day and only getting paid for 10hrs. With no motivation to go to work, my mental health it’s not where it needs to be because there’s always so much drama in my work place.

34 M NYC - Anyone down for a drink in NYC?

Is it irrational for me to get an “ick” for this?

I went on a “date” recently. I paid for the tab as they were going to the bathroom. As we were leaving they said “thanks for lunch” — I was hoping they’d at least ask to Venmo me half as a kind gesture. Following lunch we grabbed dessert. I was hoping they’d offer to cover dessert since I covered lunch but it didn’t happen.

I am fine w/ paying but I was hoping the gesture would at least be presented… am I crazy?

So, this is a little awkward, but I recently moved to SD for a fresh start, and honestly, I love this city. My problem is I have been more of a homebody since I moved here and I'm a little intimidated to go out and meet people because I don't feel like I fit in here. I am overweight and this city is full of active, and attractive people. I guess I am wondering what my experience would be if I got out more? I feel like people look at me when I'm in public because I stand out due to my size.

Additional Posts in Lawyers with ADHD

After 4 years I want to leave law because of my adhd! I have been to 4 different firms and at each place I feel like I have been “found out”. At every place at least one attorney catches me about my attention to detail. I am so down on myself now. I can’t bring myself to care about small details that I know don’t actually matter. Sitting at a desk all day in word documents is the ultimate form of torture to me. My strengths are talking to people. I am super outgoing. Looking for a new career

One of my frustrations with myself (writing it out here so I can work on it) is that I will print out something that I need, such as a traffic collision report. I will read it without actually reading it. This results in spending time without actually retaining info. Does this happen to anyone else? I’ve found that I can actually focus when I truly force myself, but often this happens after I’ve discovered an error or an important piece of information that I should have noticed earlier.

What are your strategies for completing work efficiently? How do you figure out how long projects should take? A consistent piece of feedback on my yearly reviews has been that I over-bill & spend too much time on assignments. It’s something I actively work on, but I still have no concrete sense of how long I should spend on basic tasks (e.g., drafting a motion to dismiss). My firm is right to expect that I manage my time better as a mid-level associate. WFH has made my time management worse.
