Kinda like my last agency in SF- pretending to care about hiring Black and brown people. For EXACTLY one year. Only while they had a talent team who was truly dedicated to inclusive hiring and organizational structural change. And then-
When they got rid of the talent leadership, they completely stopped their “diversity” efforts, fired several older 45+ y/o employees, the female design director quit (replace by a white man! Surprise.) fired a group director who was gay and brown, and then almost every Black or brown person left, and they’ve been hiring white men with beards steadily ever since. Oh and don’t forget that they elevated and promoted almost the entire creative team of white men, and then promoted another white man to ECD! Oh and don’t forget that they also pretended to care about supporting diversity initiatives like Here Are All The Black People, maip, and Adcolor. But since 2020 have had zero participation in any of that.
They’re as see through as those glass bottom boats fat white people enjoy on vacation in the Caribbean while clutching their purses when they go ashore to get their sad appropriation cornrows.
(It’s name ends with a T, and that’s all ima say)
This is disappointing. Imagine the struggles of being a non white/ female / visa sponsorship needed- in this industry.
